Welcome

Welcome to the Western NC Woodworkers Association Web site! We are a group of area woodworkers who enjoy getting together once each month to share our knowledge of woodworking tools, techniques and project experiences.

Hi folks,

Hopefully the frost is over, the strawberries are ready for picking and you’re all ready for another good meeting! We are pleased that one of our members will share his talents with us on the 12th – Bill Johnson from Cullowhee will give us a talk on Chip Carving, a great method of adding decoration to a project. This meeting will be held at Mountain Sawyers, beginning at 9:30 AM – be sure to bring a chair for seating and, if you’d like to show off some of your own recent accomplishments, bring an item (or pictures on a USB memory stick/cruiser disk) to show others. Guests are welcome to attend.

We’ll have refreshments and time for open discussion.

I look forward to seeing you at Mountain Sawyers on the 14th! Check under the Events > Maps tags for directions to Mountain Sawyers.

Picture below: For those of you that missed our January 2012 meeting, member Paul Patterson (left) gave a great presentation on Refurbishing a Bench Plane. He was assisted by Dick Cook who brought a nice old Sargent plane for some needed love and attention.

We look forward to seeing you all at our meeting -- In the interim, enjoy making sawdust, but please do it safely!
